The packed monorail is about two feet higher than the river edges still so its a bit of a hop down to the rivers/streams. Water flowing well but easy to cross all H2O on rock hops. |

It is all packed snow base still all the way to the summits. Some of the exposed southern facing rocky parts are now melted but 90% snow base on trail and in the woods.
Pretty unique day -- woods still has about 3-4 feet of snow under the evergreens. Train is 95% packed up to the summits. Trail got mushy by the afternoon in some spots. Bridges over small streams and low spots just starting to break up but 80% are OK. A few 3' post holes off center of trail. I saw 8 people today, two were wearing snowshoes -- I brought mine but took them off after a mile...
