Surface Conditions

Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Some water, mostly mud on the AT - most hoppable if one were to be so savvy and really reach those legs..
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: A few trees down along the AT, easily hoppable. 1 full tree top covering the AT just after departing the Atwell TH (north bound), looks fairly fresh but definite signs of others rerouting through the woods.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Lots of dogs off leash - first bunch..I'm not even sure how many dogs they had loose in the forest, one of them followed me, so I turned back as the owner screamed for his dog.. dog continued to owners voice so I continued my run.. only to look down about a mile later and the little black dog is at my heels, leash your pups people or have good recall with them.
Bugs
Bugs: A few flying around but nothing biting (thankfully for that!)
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Nothing to mention.

Comments
Comments: Had a plan of where I wanted to run to, trekked there first while stopping along the way to take some photos and say Hi to folks. Kind of a bummer when one family's dogs were nuts all over the AT then one proceeded to follow me, I turned around twice trying to coax the pup back to its owner. Anyhoo.. Webster Slide Mt was beautiful, had the summit to myself despite others making their way up, trail was nice and steep, heavily eroded..might call it washed out. Quite a few fire rings at the top of the cliffs.

Slight bushwhack on the run back along the AT off to the high point of Mist and back to the AT. Slight bushwhack a bit later in the other direction toward the high point of Ore Hill..or at least what I call the high point, had quartz? blocks atop, super nice views of Cube and Piermont (I think that was Piermont..sorry if it wasnt!)

Last bushwhack a little bit later and a bit longer out to Sentinel Mt - happy to have found the glass jar containing the register on the first bump and didn't have to go further. Then found a bunch of sun bleached bones (moose maybe?) on the 'whack back to the AT.

Light breeze, nice sun, warm but not oppressive .. excellent day to run 15+ mi along the AT!!

Happy Climbing!
