Comments
Comments: Bushwhacked Piermont along the ridgeline from the west, rather thick in spots. Dropped south off the ridge itself for the descent, a bit of open deciduous forest made travel easier - and assuring I didn't creep up on any larger animals; literally loads of moose droppings underfoot the entire trek up. Around 2400' started hitting rock solid snow with a sun-ice layer which actually made travel easier as long as the footsteps were kept light and smooth. There is a ton, ton, TON of yellow and orange flagging up by the summit.. probably from the camp at the base? Not sure but kind of a bummer to find up there, really not necessary!

Really nice to be out before the swarms of biting bugs and ticks really come out!
Had to return back through a haze of pink prickers to reach the location on the road where I originally cut in.. comes with the adventure, I suppose!

Opted to continue as it was still early in the day directly across the street back into the woods and head directly toward the boulders that line the ascent of Indian Pond Mt. Really beautiful (but SUPER dense) forest around 1850', came in along the southern ridge and up - found recognized high point, signed in, cut back down the mt directly east back to my car as the SNOW BEGAN!!! Ended the day with a crate of apples on the drive home. Time well spent!

Happy Climbing!
