Comments: Cummings Pond Road (unmaintained) and Green Woodlands Mountain Bike Trails

After parking the truck at the dead end of Cummings Road, I followed Cummings Pond Road, steering to the east and north side of the mountain, hiking counter-clockwise . The road and trails were running streams. At about 1,800 feet snow levels began to increase to 1-2 feet. Post holing in 2 feet of snow made me wish I had brought snow shoes. Spring conditions are always a crap-shoot. North of Mudgets I began my whack at the height of land. Woods thick in places and 1-2 feet of snow still on the ground. I reached the summit and jar after about a 1/2 mile whack. Returning I decided to head east down the mountain which was a wise decision. Open woods, south facing slope with little snow and no water to contend with. A quick out back to the truck, picking up several logging roads on the descent.
