 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Alton Mountain Road lot was fine when we arrived this morning, but was pretty much full upon our return around lunchtime, with one vehicle parking where they probably shouldn't. Mostly in-state plates. |
|
 | Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Snow - Trace/Minimal Depth, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable |
|
 | Recommended Equipment: |
|
|
 | Water Crossing Notes: |
Beaver pond bridge approach on Old Stage Road is already flooded; have to walk through a few dozen feet of 1-3" deep water. Anna Red Trail crossing was rock hoppable. |
|
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
We cut out two blowdowns on the Anna-Goat Pasture Trail and installed two rock waterbars (which will need to be set/sunk when conditions are dry) to prevent water from running unmitigated down the trail. Cleaned out waterbars on the loop as well. |

 | Comments: |
Old Stage Road was generally dry, apart from the beaver pond section (flooding adjacent to the new bridge now). Anna Red Trail was generally dry with a dusting of snow up top. Anna-Goat Pasture Trail (blue) was went down low, though we were able to get some of the flowing water off the trail with some new drainage.
Quiet this morning (only saw 1 other person while we were on the mountain), but quite a few folks out around lunchtime on our way back up Old Stage Road. Mt. Major parking lot wasn't overflowing too badly (eastbound shoulder is posted no parking). |
