Comments
Comments: zealand trail a mix of bare trail and rail snow. lots of rotten snow and rail on lower twinway. better conditions once on the ridge to zealand. still lots of snow up there.

even more snow heading to guyot with little snow rail and actually pretty decent snowshoeing. with temps today snow was pretty solid. open rock over guyot, but quickly back to snow for west bond and bond. more snow rail through this section. continued coverage to open ridgeline heading to bondcliff and then clear until back in woods heading down.

snow descending bondcliff had a lot of monorail. it started to slowly peter out with long bare sections until finally clearing out entirely near second black brook crossing. from there it was a bit wet on bondcliff trail, but once on wilderness trail it was generally a dry walk out to the trailhead.
snowshoes still necessary along the high ridges. that and bareboots were all we needed today.
great day for a traverse.

nice temps with a mix of sun and clouds. snow conditions starting to get pretty difficult in places, but generally not too bad. planned the trip before knowing zealand road would be open so that was a nice bonus. thanks to cynthia for a nice hike.
