We decided to check this one off at the end of the day. We utilized Gaia GPS to help keep us on track, and to find the mythical red dot trail/herd path. We crossed three or four sizeable cuts before entering gorgeous open hardwoods. The snow had been falling all day, and made the trees a sight. We followed a few old paths, and worked on staying close to WMNF boundary until we reached the ridge. At this point we found the faded red blazing everyone was mentioning, and it was a great help. There is no cannister anymore, the last one was not replaced apparently. Came down in a cloud, as well as on a cloud. Great peak, worth the trip! |
