From the parking spot it was a interesting entry onto the access road between an abandoned house and another house. (Looks like you are walking up this houses driveway). The road brought us to the former tourist Hotel and a sign that provided information on the owners and who the mountain was named after (Louis Agassiz, check him out on the web-very interesting reading). The current owner allows hikers to share the fantastic view so be courteous respectful to the property. Did you know that there was a proposed Ski Area and Monorail for Mt. Agassiz in the 1960's? Some interesting news stories on this too. Super views for the little work to get there. |
