| Comments: |
A couple of inches of fresh powder fell during the week and began melted throughout the warmth of the day. Good conditions for snowshoes, but my feet got soaking wet even with gators and snowshoes on. With all the fresh powder and snow mush, the climb was harder than anticipated, we were going between 1-1.5 miles/hour. The route up the Carter-Moriah trail is a steady constant climb from the start to finish. Between Mt. Surprise and Moriah we had beautiful snow covered views of Whites. I was pleasantly surprised by the 360 at the top of Moriah. |
