Comments
Comments: Cloudy, warm-ish day. Trails started off hard frozen but near the summits the snow was quite deep and coming down in the late afternoon the warm day had softened things up so long stretches of the road became post-holes. We had only microspikes and an ice axe, which helped with the ascent on South Slide. Had I my druthers we'd have gone microspikes in the morning to crampons for the steep parts, snowshoes across the summit ridge and pretty much the rest of the way. Friendly hikers advised us against the descent on North Slide, so we broke trail on the Scaur instead.
