Comments
Comments: Microspikes necessary from the start, but no other traction required here as long as it is below freezing. Entire trail / monorail easily navigable with a normal stride despite sections where some poor postholer had a bad day. All water crossings were solid, there was a few spots of ice near the summit of N. Kinsman, but nothing difficult to get over unless you are a 60# dog with short legs. Some steep sections showed potential at the end of the day for the frozen granular to turn to ice. There was also some snow melting at lower elevations later in the day, but it still supported full weight. Great conditions for a hike on firm snow!
