Comments
Comments: Perfect conditions underfoot; basically a pavement of hard snow and granular snow - no breaking through. Snow shoes are not needed; light traction will do. For some reason, the trail has been re routed about half mile (or less) in. It now includes two stream crossings which did not appear to be easy. We followed the old trail to the right and up which rejoins the new trail in a few minutes. This avoids the two stream crossings. We only went partway up the summit ledges to get a great view but decided not to go to the summit because of snow and some ice. The side trail into the falls was equally good. I would recommend going in the lower trail even if you go in on your way down. The upper trail in is very steep and can be difficult even when the main trail is good.
