Trail is in excellent condition. Starts off with hard packed snow and ice from parking lot, quickly turns to a short patch of bare ground, but don't be tempted to take off the microspikes. Soon enough the trail switches back to packed frozen snow the entire rest of the way. Barebooting not advisable. Could work but would be very slow going and probably not very enjoyable. (We saw quite a few people making the attempt - they wished they had planned better!) A bit challenging to keep from slipping on icier conditions around rocks down near the bottom even with the spikes but once you get up past that section you're good to go. Conditions stay consistant to the top. No icey bulges on the rock ledge up high yet, just frozen snow or some bare spots. Still substantial depth up near the top which could get softer and slushy with warmer weather meriting snowshoes but for now, no way! Windy at the top but oh, so beautiful. Views went on for miles.
