Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment: Snowshoes
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: There were three water crossings that weren't too difficult but you had to think about it. At the first we just decided to go for it and the water never came over our ankles. At the second and third we needed to hike upstream about 50 feet to find a place to rock hop.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Some blowdowns but all avoidable. Trail washed away about 3 miles in but you can rock-hop over the stream. Blazes nonexistent after North Summit (at least I couldn't spot them). Whole trail really needs to be re-blazed.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Didn't take one but seemed fine for our best friends.
Bugs
Bugs: Almost none. I did kill one mosquito so watch out, they're hatching as we speak. I also noticed one tick on my shorts. Recommend bug spray.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: A Honda key and a pair of reading glasses are by the trailhead map.

Comments
Comments: Made it to North summit with dry boots (mostly). Only minor snow/ice and mud on the way up but very manageable. The steep, rocky bit of the trail on the approach to North summit has a section where loose sand/gravel covers a layer of black ice. This was treacherous and we had to hold on to trees to get past.

Just beyond North summit on the way to Middle summit the snow cover is still significant. We were postholing to our hips in shorts without gaiters and then couldn't find any blazes so after 20 minutes we retraced our steps and returned down the scree slope to the trailhead. Not recommended unless you have snowshoes.
