Comments
Comments: Initial approach was snow/iceless. Gale Rive trail quickly turned to blue ice monorail followed by full snow cover. All higher up trail were complete snow cover. Snowshoes are a must. From just past the Gale River/GRT junction, I bushwhacked straight up Galehead, finding mainly open woods and supportive snow. The only challenges in the bushwhack was some steep going and a few spruce traps. With supportive snow, this bushwhack saves me a bit of time. I only saw seven other people and no groups bigger than two.
