 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
The ski area was still open when we were there, but not too busy. We parked in lot 4 and walked to the trailhead (about 5 minutes). If you can get a spot in lot 1 you will be right next to the trailhead. |

 | Comments: |
Trail was well packed snow and easy to walk on. We wore snowshoes after reading reports about the snow softening up later in the day. I'm glad we did, too, because that's exactly what happened. A few people who were wearing spikes and saw our snowshoes commented that they wished they'd worn theirs. Since the trail is very steep I also felt that the snowshoes, with their larger crampons, helped a lot with traction, especially on the descent. |
