Brought my two today and they had a ball! There’s a thickish sheen of frozen rain off trail the higher you go, so doggos did a little slipping and sliding if they tried to venture off trail. |

Hard to believe but the trail and surrounding woods are BARE for about the first mile. Small patches of ice start slowly. After the first water crossing the snow cover begins, but not solid until about 1700 ft. elevation. It’s a very hard packed trail, micro spikes worked fine all the way up and down. Some icy spots higher up with no snow covering are easy to get around. I would have to imagine that if there is another big rain/freeze, the steep upper portion of Kinsman Mt. trail will turn into a luge run. No issues on the Ridge trail. It was a beautiful day all around! |
