 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Plenty of parking and the lot was well plowed with just a little ice. Nine cars on our return, but we only met two people on Potash. |
|
 | Surface Conditions: |
Snow - Trace/Minimal Depth, Snow/Ice - Monorail (Stable), Snow/Ice - Small Patches |
|
 | Recommended Equipment: |
Light Traction |
|
 | Water Crossing Notes: |
There are three water crossings, but the first one is the largest. It was okay today, but with more warm weather I expect the partial snow bridge will completely collapse soon. There were very deep post holes into the brook from previous hikers. |

 | Comments: |
The trail was perfectly packed at 9:00 this morning and we had no trouble summiting fairly quickly. There is a thin layer of snow on the trail and some patches where ice is just starting to poke through. We were back down before noon and the trail surface was changing just a bit to some sugary conditions, but nothing that slowed us down. Spikes were perfect. Get out there early and this one will be good! Bonus today as we met one of my favorite local authors on the summit! |
