 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
i parked at the turn around on cummings pond road in dorchester. dirt roads leading in from 118 have been recently graded to mitigate spring like conditions. the turn around is signed against parking from nov 1 to apr 15, as seem to be many places in dorchester, but i took this to be related to snow removal which certainly is not an issue right now. signs of foot traffic point to regular use. |

 | Comments: |
i walked the continuation of cummings pond road to a junction and turned left past a gate. i quickly passed a large open cut and turned right immediately after onto an obsucure and overgrown road. after a brief stretch it opens up and leads to the base of mudgetts. snow on the road was mostly supportive, but a bit punchy and sloppy in spots. after passing through a clearing and crossing a notable small brook and another smaller drainage i briefly started to bushwhack towards the summit before picking up a couple logging/woods roads that ran on heading. once they stopped being useful it was a mostly open woods bushwhack up to the summit. i visited the various summits bumps including the recognized point on the southern most one. given snow conditions up high it was a little tough to follow tracks down and i just dropped until i hit one of the roads i had ascended on and at that point used the same route out. |
