Comments
Comments: Low winds and comfortable temps lured me to Adams 5 today. Amphibrach and Hincks Trail were well packed down, really only needed spikes on those 2 trails. At Grey Knob Cabin, I switched to crampons; there were sections of ice above treeline where spikes wouldn't have been adequate. Mix of rock and ice on Israel Ridge Path. Despite the warmer temps in the afternoon, the trails on the descent were still compact.
