The two stream crossings were ice bridged (for now ... relatively thin, may not persist much longer with warming temps, rain, lack of new snowfall, etc.) |

One larger blowdown, currently a leaner that's easily ducked under, on Stony Brook Tr. |

| Comments: |
Bluebird day for the out/back to Moriah summit via Stony Brook Tr. Hillsound micros the whole day. Saw at least a dozen other people, all in spikes (a few toting snowshoes, for the ride.) Low down on Stony Brook Tr in the first few tenths there was a significant amount of ice necessitating spikes from the start. Once past the water crossings, just snow, and hardpacked at that. Up on the C-M ridge there was negligible drifting, and at least 3-4 feet of snowpack ... definitely a carwash effect with branches extending into the trail corridor.
Also, to my surprise there was a group of snowshoers coming up Moriah Brook Tr, which was thinly packed out from C-M. |
