Comments
Comments: Absolutely gorgeous, bluebird day in the Whites! I wore micro spikes all day, even on the icy sections they worked great! The Ammo was very well packed. My partner changed over to crampons at the Lakes of the Clouds hut, and left them on until we came down the Gulf Side Trail, just before getting onto the Jewell Trail. We were both happy with our choices. The others that we passed were in either spikes or crampons. Our original plan was to grab Monroe first, but at the hut we decided to take the window of acceptable wind conditions and just continue on to Washington. And Washington did not disappoint! Spectacular views for miles and miles!!! When we came down the Gulf Side Trail, it was so beautiful we stopped there for lunch and enjoyed the view. Continued on down, and then onto the Jewell Trail. It had really started to warm up so the Jewell was a bit wet, but still in good shape.
