Beautiful day with mixed trail conditions. On the south side of the mountain we had to keep ripping off our microspikes because of long stretches of bare dirt and rock. The north and west sides of the loop were continuously snow- and ice-covered. Microspikes were the right choice today, though we saw folks picking their way up and down the mountain with no traction as well. Things were pretty wet all around. Watch out for some of the frozen over postholes, especially on the less trafficked side of the mountain. |
