Comments
Comments: Great day with sun & views aplenty. Winds were strong on Monroe. Trails are in great shape and well packed. Saw the full spectrum of footwear and all worked fine on this route top-to-bottom. Some in our group chose snowshoes for the heel bar, some used spikes which were fine — trails didn’t soften much and no postholing issues. Saw folks using full crampons doing fine. Plenty of snow above tree line, no issues avoiding rocks and not much ice. Trail was fast and fun on the way down. A couple of freeze-thaws this week could change things.
