Lots of blowdowns on Liberty Spring. One of them is quite impressive. Its huge and its directly on top of an old blowdown that sits in the woods. None of any real consequence between the peaks |

Great hike, Liberty Spring is in great shape given the weather fluctuations. Bare boots mud pit up until the first water crossing. Then a nice thin layer of ice in the trail bed, perfect for Microspikes. I stuck with Microspikes to the summit, snow shoes would be okay after the tentsite but the trail was broken by boots. Ridge between Liberty and Flume had one set of boot tracks. I broke it a little better but its still in need of a good packing. |
