Cars were parked roadside along NH route 11, but since I didn't get to the trailhead until after 2 PM, there were several open spots in the lot from people who hiked earlier. |

 | Comments: |
Below the Brook Trail junction, the Mt. Major Trail had a mix of ice, frozen snow, and bare ground. Past the junction, the amount of ice rapidly increased, with some sections below the top being almost complete glare ice. The summit of Mt. Major itself was mostly snow and ice-free. The Boulder Trail had a lot less ice and a lot more bare ground, with most of the hairy stuff coming in the last 0.4 mile to the trailhead. I'd recommend at least bringing light traction, since the next couple days are supposed to be pushing 60 for high temps, but there might still be enough ice to warrant it. |
