Comments
Comments: nineteen mile a mix of snow rail and bare trail. maybe 25/75, but melting fast so some mud and standing/running water as well. more full snow coverage on carter dome trail particularly after the first water crossing. lots of crumbling rail prior. lots of rail up through the switchbacks mostly stable, but collapsing in spots. once on the ridge there was deeper snow with more postholed rail and the final stretch to carter dome summit still has quite deep snow providing nice views to the presidentials and peaks to the north. booted until after the first water crossing on carter dome trail then snowshoes to the summit.
another nice mild day. conditions on the ground getting more interesting, but still decent up high. good to be out.
