Comments
Comments: Purchased the $10 uphill pass, then snowshoed up Lower Straycat to Lower Polecat to Catnap to Upper Polecat. Lower Straycat was boilerplate, while the others were loose granular. SNOWSHOES were the ideal choice for traction, as well as respecting the skier's trails (booters were leaving divets and postholes on the side of the trail...I don't like paying nearly $90 for a ski ticket, then having to dodge that carnage).

Did the short bushwhack from near the top of Polecat to the Wildcat Ridge trail to avoid climbing D twice. SNOWSHOES.

Wildcat Ridge Trail was generally a nice packed powder surface (seems like there had been some snow during the week). Between D and A, there was zero ice. The steep chutes off C were about as easy as they get, thanks to folks using SNOWSHOES today. A few assorted postholes from prior Massachusetts Microspikers.

Snowpack on the ridge is probably about 4 feet. SNOWSHOES.

Nice afternoon with clear skies and moderate winds.
