Trails are frozen solid and hard packed; perfect hiking conditions. Snowshoes went for a ride, though we saw some people wearing them for the televators. We wore spikes the whole day up and down. Some small patches of ice in the middle of the trail, but nothing major. We had full crampons and ice axes with us, but did not need them on the ascent. We used our ice axes on the descent for some controlled buttsledding and we were flying down that trail! Beautiful weather and trail conditions; get out there and get some peaks before winter ends :) |
