 | Comments: |
Do not attempt this hike without traction! The Main Trail was solid ice from start to finish, except for a couple of short bare ground stretches near the trailhead. The lower ledges proved a bit difficult to navigate, but we snaked our way up, trying to find some snow between steep icy rivers. The upper ledges were more snow than ice, so were easier. The snow continued across the summit and to the Brook Trail. Brook Trail was a mix of ice and snow, becoming more ice as we descended. The ice was thick enough to seem like it won't be going anywhere in the next week or so, even with warm temps ahead. |
