Comments
Comments: The Mt. Shaw Trail was firm with ice in spots on the ascent but softening later as it warmed. With its southern exposure, snow isn't deep enough to posthole. Black Snout Trail and High Ridge Trail were well packed and firm. Black Snout spur had deeper snow with postholes and was softening. We got away with spikes throughout without damaging the trails but snowshoes may be needed in the higher places as it warms.
Beautiful hike with Chris, enjoying long views, pleasant temperatures and sunshine. Nice to meet Dwayne and Laurie on Shaw's summit.
