Comments
Comments: Beautiful hiking today. Spring weather.

Trail is almost walkable with spikes but felt more comfortable with the snowshoes. Trail gets drifty and a little hard to follow above treeline but you can see the tower so it would be hard to get lost. Slipped on the way down (with spikes) and couldn't stop for about 100 yards. Ended up off trail and had to bushwhack back to the trail through spruce hell with chest deep snow. Good times.

Be careful of falling ice from the tower if you climb to the observation deck! Big chunks of ice were dropping onto the benches. Big enough chunks to ruin your day for sure.
