Took Upper Baker Pond Road to Bear Tree Road which we followed to the large plowed turnaround where we parked. |

As soon as we got our snowshoes on, we went to look for Mary and Brian Bond's snowshoe tracks. Thanks, guys! Very faint but we found them! Turned into the woods just to the right of the gated road and followed their tracks pretty much all the way. Faint at times but we always managed to relocate them after a few steps. Moderate but tedious climb up to the jar as temps were well into the 40's and the snow was starting to soften. Logging areas weren't too bad although did have a lot of new growth that would catch onto your pole baskets and pack at times. Summit area is fairly flat and jar easy to find, especially now that we've made a very visible trail for you! Went down the same way we had ascended. |
