Comments
Comments: Wore spikes from the parking lot until the start of the steep section (which is obvious) on Holt, around 2300 feet. Great day to practice with crampons and axe on the steep approach to the summit. Used GPS to stay on trail as the blazes weren't visible toward the top. Quite windy at the top but found shelter from he wind beside the firetower. Beautiful views everywhere on the descent along Mowgli & Manning. Could have switched back to spikes once back below treeline as the trail was well packed but didn't want to stop so kept the crampons until back to the car. Temps were still cold enough that there was no postholing. Snowshoes took a ride. Saw no one all day.
