Comments
Comments: Trails were riddled with postholes. Patchy snow and ice down low with snow depth increasing with elevation. Maybe a foot of snow in the woods up high. Trails were firm enough for just spikes but any warmer today and we would have wanted snowshoes to preserve the trail.

Approximately 150 yards above the lower Benjamin Weeks Trail junction a game trail crosses the Mt Rowe Trail. The game trail had a ton of blood in it. Looks as though something, maybe a deer?, was attacked and ran along the trail. Not sure if this is related to the active coyotes in the area or not but be cautious with dogs in the area. We walked along the game trail on both sides of the trail to see if there were any more signs of what was injured but found nothing.

Overall a nice hike with good views from the ridge as usual.
