There is a firm base that is solidly packed but there were several areas with blown in snow. It was a windy day so there were areas where our up hill tracks were gone by the time we came down. Even so, we did fine with spikes the entire day thanks to the well packed base. The road can easily be bare-booted and two of us did that before we put on our spikes. |
