| Comments: |
Started the hike in hillsounds. Lots of ice and packed snow down close to the trailhead. After the Bald peak spur, the trail is slightly less packed and snow shoes were really helpful as the pitch gets steeper. On the ridgeline, I saw a number of people barebooting it, there was only minimal damage to the trail but I was grateful for the others wearing snow shoes :) Some loser powder and drifts on South Kinsman and wore snowshoes back down to the car to not have to waste time switching back to spikes. |
