Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: As mentioned in Twinkle Toe's report yesterday, there is room for 3 cars side by side, or 4 cars if one is blocked in on the right side. There was a group of three skiers from Mass who had done just this, and luckily I was able to squeeze in between them for the 4th and final spot today. Thank you Twinkle Toes for the trail report and for shoveling out extra room yesterday!!!

Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Trail in great shape. 1/4 mile past the river crossing the ski track turns into a groomed snowmobile trail
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Fin had a blast. Me being a dummy, I did not realize that Sawyer River Trail is a heavily-trafficked snowmobile trail. It was not a major issue, but every time sleds came roaring past I had to make sure and secure her so that she did not get obliterated by the machines

Comments
Comments: I figured today would be a great day to finish red-lining the pesky 2.6 north-south section of the Sawyer River Trail that I have been staring at on my map for a year. Based on the guidebook description and map, skis seemed appropriate. After our heavenly Hedgehog hike, Fin and I drove up the road and had a fun ski down to and across the river. About a quarter- mile later we were a bit bummed to see that Sawyer River Trail is a very heavily trafficked snowmobile trail, but it was a beautiful day, the sun was shining, and we were not going to be deterred by a few noisy, stinky sleds!!! We encountered 7 groups of snowmobilers in 1:45 of skiing. We avoided getting road-killed, so I would call it a huge success.
