Comments
Comments: the road had seen some use up to the saddle between north and south moose. the snow was pretty rock solid and i could walk wherever i wanted in snowshoes. recent tracks led up to the summit of north moose where they stopped. i decided to continue to the more northern summit for dilligence. some older snowshoe tracks noted in spots, but mostly gone. upon arrival at the more northern high contour i got onto tracks from folks that had used the a.t. from the north to that point. very postholed so i might suggest avoiding that piece of trail for a bit. the high point is just up off the trail before it starts descending north. comparing between the two points with a cheap altimeter for the first time i read this summit as a bit higher, roughly 6 feet, though all maps, peakbagging websites, etc i know of show the southern bump as the summit. who knows. back down at the saddle the trail up south moose had seen more use and it was a quick trip up to the summit. tracks back to the wolfeboro road and out.
