| Comments: |
Mt Kinsmans trail monorail starts just before the Bald Peak turnoff and is spotty until about 3000' where it is all snow. This trail is in bad shape. Someone postholed the monorail all the way to the Kinsmans Ridge trail making travel difficult. The trail was frozen post holes in the morning so I used microspikes, trying to avoid the holes. On the way down the snow was soft so snowshoes worked better. The Kinsmans Ridge trail is in great shape as everyone used snowshoes on the monorail. The south side of North peak has some exposed rock ledges which were tricky with snowshoes. Also South peak was free of snow. Great views and weather today... |
