Comments
Comments: I entered the woods directly from Rt. 49, aiming for the spur ridge just west of Dry Brook. I immediately encountered a skidder road, completely free of blowdowns, that went directly up the ridgeline; I followed this for about 600 feet before it petered out in an open birch glade. Afterwards the forest became much more dense, but snow conditions were great -- 4-6” of powder with a firm base. At ca. 2400ft, I encountered a band of ledges that I avoided by skirting east. Due to dense conifer thickets, it took me about an hour to get through the last 3/4 of a mile to the summit, but the woods really opened up just below Jennings.

I descended via the Jennings spur and Sandwich Mtn. Trails, and returned to my car via a short road walk.
