From our parking location we strapped on our snowshoes heading west, crossed the gate and immediately jumped in the woods heading northwest on an old wood’s road / skidder road, crossed some previously logged areas heading towards the southeast running ridge of Indian Pond Mountain. Snow was very supportive as I only punched through a few times. Luck me!
Once through the logged area and on the ridge still heading northwest we hit nice open woods at moderate grade. Thing got a little thicker but never too bad as we were able to skirt around patches of thick spruce. While taking a nature break I notice a game camera right in front of me! Just smile and wave. Now I’m thinking how many times that has happened?
We keep moving and again skirted to the east to avoid thick spruce and soon hit the recognized high point. After signing in we followed our tracks out. Another ice hike with my beautiful bride Mary
