Comments
Comments: Perfect day for this hike. Trail is completely packed out with a snowshoe track. You can get away with spikes from the start until you get to Franconia Brook Trail. FBT is still pretty soft, so snowshoes are the best choice. The three crossings after getting on FBT are solidly bridged.

Brutus Bushwhack is easy to follow, and super steep. It joins the Owls Head Path about 100’ higher than usual (about 3500’). We tried to avoid butt-sledding down, but the trail was too steep and the snow too soft.

If you need this for winter, I’d highly recommend getting while the conditions are pretty much perfect right now!
