Comments
Comments: From the parking I followed the extension of Forbes Mountain Rd. to a log landing, then turned right onto the logging road which leads all the way to the summit. A fairly stiff climb with a few steeper sections below the top. I walked the open summit ridge, hitting all of the bumps. From there I headed north on another logging road across the ridge to Pine Hill, where I startled a moose about 100 ft. away. Both summits have been heavily logged over but Forbes has the better vistas. A great look over to Cardigan from here.

All surfaces were concrete-like snowpack, so spikes were the perfect traction choice.

As others have reported, this route looks to be very unpleasant in summer due to the very high tick potential, so if you need this peak for the NH500 now is a good time to go.
