Hiked up Polecat Ski Trail with my season pass. $10 uphill charge if you don't have a pass.
Wildcat Ridge Trail has 6 inches of fresh snow with drifts up to a foot between D and A Peaks. Coming down A peak it was drifted to a foot plus until meeting snowshoes tracks coming the other way that stopped where hikers sometimes get lost at the left turn coming uphill. From there to 19MBT continuing down to Carter Dome Trail junction is a nice snowshoe path. The last 1.8 back to the trailhead can be done with light traction without making any damage. With all the foot traffic today you might be able to microspike all of 19MBT tomorrow but Snowshoes are a must if you're hiking along Wildcat Ridge Trail. |
