Comments
Comments: From where I parked I walked a short distance up the road then turned left onto a woods road marked by orange signs just beyond a small pond. At a fork, I turned left and followed this road all the way up to just below the summit where I hopped onto a snowmobile trail the rest of the way. Fantastic views from the mostly open summit, a really nice spot. The summit is located on private property but the landowner welcomes hikers as long they respect the property (no fires, no trash). For the descent, I followed the snowmobile trail all the way down to the Class VI portion of Gates Mountain Rd. and then walked that back to my car. An easier and quicker option is to just park where the Class VI road starts and take the snowmobile trail up and down.

All snowy surfaces were rock-solid as the recent rain has been absorbed by the snowpack and then frozen. I wore spikes round-trip.
