| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
There is a lot of logging activity in the area of the usual parking spot so parking is about a mile further away and it's clearly marked. This will add a mile (one way) to your hike. |

| Surface Conditions: |
Snow - Wet/Sticky, Snow - Spring Snow |

| Recommended Equipment: |
Snowshoes |

| Water Crossing Notes: |
All crossings were still bridged on my way out today but with these warm temperatures, I'm sure they will quickly melt. |

| Comments: |
This morning I started out on spikes up the road and remained in them until I reached the Bunnell Notch Trail sign at which point I swapped them out for snowshoes. With the unseasonably warm temperatures today, I kept the snowshoes on all day and despite that, still found myself trying to stick to the packed insides of the trail as bearing off just even a tad off resulted in a side step sinking into the snow. The trail is a hiking highway at the moment and if it gets cold, spikes all the way might do but with these temperatures, snowshoes are my personal preference. |
