Comments: Enjoyed reading the other reports for this. DEL - the trail (Liberty Spring) stayed nice. No shredding.

"Never regret being fat, old, and slow; you get to see the alpen glow!" As usual, a late start and me being me, this took forever. Going up that is. I was a "Bernie Buttslider," a couple times, so I got down in a third of the time it took me to go up. Due to my lack of speed, we were treated to one of the most beautiful sunsets and alpen glows I have ever seen! It was even better than my slow-a## Carter Dome sunset last winter.

All kidding aside, the majority of folks were in their shoes for this one. As of last night, the integrity of the trail has been preserved. I suppose I could make excuses for my slow ascent on the fact that I had to knock clumping snow off of my shoes ever twenty feet. I read somewhere that cooking spray can help. Don't know if it's accurate, but if I try it I will buy an organic one so as not to put chemicals into the ground that will eventually end up in the ground water that supplies the good ol' Merrimack Valley. Guy would be proud.

Oh yeah, the dropping temps changed the condition of the snow for the good on the way down. New moon night made for a beautiful starry sky.
