Comments
Comments: Bluebird day! Beautiful cobalt skies, mild temps, low winds- perfect for a western assault on Washington

Parked at the Cog just before sunrise, happily paid the $10 fee. Snow shoes from the car to the hut (televators were gold on the steeps above Gem Pool). The trail was in great shape. It started getting icy on the final scramble to the hut, but no problems.

Switched to K10s at the hut for the final 1.5 miles. Crawford was pretty solid. I saw plenty of people do the whole thing in snow shoes, but I was happy with my choice, especially on the descent when the warm sun had softened the trail a bit.

There was a fair amount of wind at the summit, but it wasn't so bad that you couldn't sit down behind a building and relax comfortably.
It was a pleasure to meet so many friendly folks out! I even had a nice chat with a fellow contributor to this site on Crawford at the base of the summit cone.

Perfect day! video link below
