The Black Pond and Brutus bushwhacks are well defined and all crossings are snow bridged. We barebooted to Black Pond and then used snowshoes for the remainder. Helpful hint- when you join the main Owl’s Head path from the Brutus bushwhack, drop a pin on GPS or otherwise mark the spot. It’s super easy to miss the turn for Brutus on the way down. |
